5-Star Quarterback Ty Simpson Commits to Alabama Alabama picked up a prominent commitment for the 2022 recruiting class today. Ty Simpson, 5-star quarterback from Martin, Tennessee announced on CBSHQ today his intentions to play his college football in Tuscaloosa. Simpson follows the footsteps of Tua Tagovailoa and Bryce Young as top-tier quarterbacks to commit to Alabama. Simpson is considered the No. 3 overall pro-style quarterback in the class and is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee. He chose to commit to Alabama over the likes of Clemson, Tennessee and Ole Miss. The 6-foot-2 inch quarterback seemed to favor Tennessee early in the recruiting process and then Clemson before settling on Alabama to pursue his college career. He has most recently been recruited by two of Alabama s newest staff members, Bill O Brien and Jay Graham.
