PlayStation Partners with Discord, Makes Minority Investment
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced today that PlayStation has entered a new partnership with Discord, the popular communication service widely used by gamers and more than 140 million people per month globally.
Sony made a minority investment as part of Discord’s Series H round and is now working on connecting Discord with PlayStation Network’s social and gaming experience. This initiative, starting early next year, will bring both services closer together on console and mobile. Players will then be able to communicate and interact with each other more easily.

From what it sounds like, the new partnership will allow folks to use Discord within various PlayStation social features, letting people use friends, groups, and communities together on both. Again, details are spare beyond the big picture stuff, so who knows whether Discord servers will go back and forth or if there will be some kind of walled garden for Discord x PlayStation, and there s pl
