QUAKERTOWN, Pennsylvania (WPVI) A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Bucks County, Pennsylvania teenager at Nockamixon State Park.
On Wednesday, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub announced that Kenneth Troy Heller, 52, of Warminster, has been charged with criminal homicide and other related charges in connection with the shooting.
According to authorities, the shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. on October 24 near the Old Ridge Road entrance to the park in Quakertown. Jason Kutt was watching the sunset at Lake Nockamixon when he was fatally shot. He had so many goals and aspirations and now he s not here. Today brought a little bit of closure, not a whole lot, said Dana Kutt, Jason s mother.
An investigation is underway after an 18-year-old high school graduate was shot and killed while watching the sunset with his girlfriend at a state park in Bucks County. The victim’s girlfriend said she saw a man wearing hunting gear about 550 feet away moments after the shooting. Now investigators are trying to determine if the shooting was intentional. A 52-year-old hunter was charged with homicide on Wednesday, two months after he shot and killed a teenager who was watching the sunset with his girlfriend at a state park in Pennsylvania, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors identified Kenneth Troy Heller as the hunter who shot the teen.
Heller has agreed to be held without bail and is set to enter into a plea agreement at his arraignment in April, the district attorney said.

A hunter who fatally shot a teenager he apparently mistook for an animal at a state park has been charged with homicide and weapons counts, authorities said. Police said Jason Kutt was shot and killed while watching the sunset with his girlfriend at a park on Oct. 24.
CBS Philadelphia reports Kenneth Troy Heller, 52, of Warminster, made his initial court appearance Wednesday and was jailed after the judge denied him bail. It wasn t known if he s retained an attorney.
