San Antonio man sentenced to prison in fatal beating of elderly man

Damian Jimenez, 24, pled guilty to murder Friday in the Aug. 16 fatal beating.
A 24-year-old San Antonio man charged in the beating of an elderly man outside an East Side convenience store in August has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Damian Kay Kay Jimenez was charged with murder Sept. 20, the day Guadalupe Andrew Martinez, 93, died from injuries sustained in the August attack. On Friday, Jimenez pleaded guilty to the offense in state District Court and was sentenced.
He will have to serve at least half of the 40-year sentence before he will be eligible for parole.
