Coming out of new head coach Steve Sarkisian’s first spring practice for the Texas Longhorns, one of the central roster management questions regards whether or not offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Kyle Flood will look to upgrade his position group through the NCAA transfer portal.
There are currently several transfers on Flood’s radar, including serial transfer artist Willie Allen, who started his career at LSU, left for Tyler Junior College, started for a year at Louisiana Tech, then transferred to Michigan last October, but didn’t appear in a game for the Wolverines before portaling out of Ann Arbor following spring practice.

Four years and three head coaches later, the University of Colorado Buffaloes have returned to postseason play in the first year of the Karl Dorrell era with a berth in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio against the University of Texas. This marks CU’s first bowl appearance since the magical season of 2016 when the Buffs won 10 games and its first-ever Pac-12 South title before crushing losses to Washington in the Pac-12 Championship and Oklahoma State in the Alamo Bowl.

A No. 20 Texas Longhorns team depleted by opt outs will put head coach Tom Herman’s undefeated bowl record with the program on the line on Dec. 29 in the Alamo Bowl against the Colorado Buffaloes at 8 p.m. Central on ESPN.
It’s the second straight year that the Longhorns will head to San Antonio for the postseason in 2019, Texas stomped No. 11 Utah, 38-10 and the first meeting between the two teams since 2009. The Buffaloes left the Big 12 in 2011.
This season, however, the Horns have to overcome the loss of five of the seven team captains to opt outs and the loss of senior center Derek Kerstetter to injury. Of those team captains, only senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger is set to participate in the Alamo Bowl.
