Mitchell Pearce confidently declared the NRL competition is ‘there for us’ after the Knights outclassed the Cowboys 38-0 in Kalyn Ponga’s first game in seven weeks.
Ponga scored two tries and had two try assists in a dominant return from a groin injury suffered in Round 9.
It is just the second time the Knights have won back-to-back games in 2021.
The big win over the Cowboys lifts the Knights from 13th to ninth on the NRL ladder with a bye and eight games remaining on their regular season schedule.
Asked on
Fox League if he believes the Knights can do some damage if they are able to avoid any more injuries to key players, Pearce replied: “Yeah I really do, me Cliff (Jake Clifford) and KP, as soon as Cliff came and while me and KP were injured we really sat down and went over a lot of video to work out what suits the team and what suits us.
