Michigan had no shortage of news in 2020.
From a global pandemic that sparked a statewide shutdown that has lasted nearly 9 months, protests outside the state capitol building, social injustice protests, a 500-year flood in the Midland area, to the presidential election, the state spent most of the year in the national spotlight.

Igloos have been popping up like mushrooms, shanty towns are being constructed, greenhouses are serving new purposes, and even a yurt or two have arrived in Michigan. These are just a few of the examples of how Michigan restauranteurs have been getting creative with outdoor dining spaces.
Restaurants have been shut down for indoor dining for the second time in 2020, this time since December 7. Restrictions will remain on indoor dining until January 15, per the current order from the Michigan Health Department.
