Tributes have been pouring in after actor and comedian David McPhail, famous for his impersonations of Prime Minister Robert Muldoon, died.

McPhail, 76, was a writer, producer, actor and comedian who became one of the best known people in New Zealand television.
In a post on Facebook, his son Matt said: It is with the deepest sadness that I share with you the news that our wonderful husband, father and grandfather David McPhail died in his sleep last night. He leaves a great big hole in our lives but not in our hearts. A truly beautiful man.

A new report shows the once plentiful scallop beds on the Coromandel coast are in crisis.
As part of the report, which was backed by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council, a survey found that in some areas of Ōpito Bay divers were able to find an average of one legal-size scallop per 26 square meters of sea bed.

He said his father had not been well and had a heart attack and died during the night. But my sister and I had the opportunity to be with him which was amazing when he died.
Matt McPhail said it was an absolute privileged to have been his son. Not a day goes by or has gone by that someone doesn t say to me oh I knew your father or I worked with your father or I watched your father or he touched me in some way or something he said or did.

The bill concerns eligibility for superannuation and has been before a select committee. The orginal target was migrants, but it affects a wider group than that, Wrightson says. People living or working overseas need to be back in the country five years before super payments start at the age of 65.

She used the example of people who may have left New Zealand to work overseas for many years and returned at 60 to be eligible at 65 for their super, however, if they are 63 on 30 June this year they will have to wait an extra year before being eligible.
