Liverpool FC Women confirm player departures Liverpool FC Women can today confirm the departure of a number of players from the club as they reach the end of their contracts. A total of five players will move on from the Reds when their deals run out at the end of June. Midfielder Amy Rodgers leaves the club after 50 appearances and four goals during five years with the team following her emergence from the LFC Women Academy. Forward Jess Clarke made 68 appearances and scored 10 goals after arriving from Notts County in April 2017. Fellow attacker Kirsty Linnett has spent the last three years with Liverpool, scoring seven goals in her 52 outings.

Poll: Kentuckians Split On COVID-19 Vaccine Requirements for Schools and Workplaces

Credit Jess Clark / WFPL   Kentuckians are fairly evenly split on whether schools and workplaces should require students and employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, according to a poll the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky released Friday. The poll found 47% of Kentuckians thought it would be a “good idea” to require the COVID-19 vaccine for students to attend in-person school, while 50% thought it would be a “bad idea.”  Meanwhile, Kentuckians are slightly more favorable to the idea that businesses should require employees to get vaccinated before returning to work in person: 52% said they thought it was a “good idea,” while 44% said they thought it was a “bad idea.”

Credit Jess Clark / WFPL News With the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest authorization for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to be used in children ages 12 to 15, the number of school-aged kids eligible for the vaccination has dramatically increased. Most middle and high school students can now get the shot. But that doesn’t mean Kentucky schools will require students to get the vaccine anytime soon. Jefferson County Public Schools, the state’s largest district, will not require students to get the shot for the 2021-2022 school year, according to district spokesperson Renee Murphy.
