Jill Frisell hired as Douglas County finance director

Her promotion took effect on Feb. 27. 4:20 pm, Mar. 3, 2021 × Jill Frisell Douglas County has a new finance director. At their Tuesday, March 2, regular board meeting, Douglas County commissioners hired Jill Frisell for the role. By hiring her as the director, that makes the finance office its own department and Frisell the department head. Frisell has worked for the county for 10 years, starting as a fiscal supervisor in February 2011. In 2016, when central finance was formed, she transitioned into a strategic finance accounting analyst supervisor. After more changes in 2018, Frisell changed positions again and became the assistant auditor/treasurer/finance director. Frisell said she is looking forward to working on the budget for the county and working with the other departments. Her predecessor, Char Rosenow, she said, was very instrumental in making sure the employees focused on cross-training in the finance department.

Douglas County auditor/treasurer gets set to retire

Commissioners accept resignation/retirement letter at Tuesday s board meeting. 5:32 pm, Oct. 20, 2020 × Char Rosenow Douglas County commissioner’s accepted a resignation/retirement letter from Char Rosenow, Douglas County auditor/treasurer and finance director, at the Tuesday, Oct. 20, regular board meeting. Commissioner Jerry Rapp thanked Rosenow and said she has done an “excellent job” working for the county. Other commissioners chimed in with the same sentiments. Chairman Keith Englund said, “We are very grateful for everything you’ve done.” Rosenow, who was re-elected to the position in 2018, will officially retire on Feb. 28, but her last working day will be Feb. 26. The commissioners will have to appoint someone to her position who will fill out her remaining term. Rosenow would have been up for election again in 2022.
