The border between the US and Canada has been closed since shortly after the pandemic started in March of 2020, It is slated to stay closed until June 21, but the pressure is on to reopen the border as the COVID-19 situation improves because of vaccinations. Saskatchewan’s tourism minister Jeremy Harrison says it is time to get fully vaccinated people across the border, and is somewhat overdue.

The border between the US and Canada has been closed since shortly after the pandemic started in March of 2020, It is slated to stay closed until June 21, but the pressure is on to reopen the border as the COVID-19 situation improves because of vaccinations.
Tourism Minister Jeremy Harrison says it is the government’s opinion that its time. He says the belief is that it can be safely reopened and thee is an economic importance to getting it reopened.
The Prime Minister has indicated that a multi-phase approach to reopening the border is what they are looking at. It would start with those who have been fully vaccinated to enter the country this summer.
