While nearly a third of Florida’s population is vaccinated now, Central Florida’s numbers lag behind with only about a fourth of people in Orange and Seminole counties vaccinated.
In Osceola County, it’s even a bit lower with less than 23 percent of the county’s residents vaccinated.

Osceola was the first in Central Florida to enforce one in April of 2020.
We asked Osceola County chairman, Brandon Arrington, for his thoughts on other areas lifting the mandate. He responded in a statement saying he believes Texas and Mississippi lifted the mandate as a political decision and credits mask use to the reason local case numbers have declined so drastically since January.
