County to Reopen 13 Libraries by June 14
Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) announced May 10 they would begin reopening branches to the public. On June 1, six of the 22 county libraries will reopen after being closed for more than a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Tuesday, MCPL announced that seven additional branches are scheduled to reopen June 14.
When the branches reopen, appointments will not be required, there will not be any capacity limits or social distance requirements. The contactless pickup service for borrowed library materials known as ‘Holds to Go’ will be discontinued prior to the reopening of the branches.
The remaining branches will reopen on July 6, with the exception of Germantown Library, which is closed for a refresh project, and Noyes Library for Young Children.
