The Italian government announced on Thursday that it would require people to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative test in order to participate in certain social activities, including indoor dining, visiting museums and attending shows.
The move follows a similar announcement made by the French government last week and comes as the debate in Western nations heats up over how far governments should or can go in circumscribing the life of the unvaccinated.

MEYERS, Calif. - Three men were arrested early Saturday morning following an attempted home invasion robbery at a Meyers residence.
Deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff s Office (EDSO) were dispatched to a home at 4:34 a.m. January 16 after dispatch received a call from the residents. They said two men entered their home and attempted to conduct a robbery while using violence. EDSO said the residents resisted and there was some physical conflict between two or three residents and the two suspects.
The two suspects then left the home in a vehicle driven by a third suspect.
