In a PBA bubble that tested the limits of patience, endurance and resiliency, it was made clear right off the bat that nothing would be guaranteed and everything would be twice as hard.
There is no precedent to the entire experience. So after Barangay Ginebra wrapped up a five-game conquest of TNT in the 2020 Philippine Cup Finals on Wednesday, one could understand coach Tim Cone the ever gracious owner of a record 23 titles and two Grand Slams for wanting to keep this rare slice of history just for himself and the Gin Kings.

+ December 10, 2020 The Barangay Ginebra Kings are rulers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup after they fended off the resilient TNT Tropang Giga, 82-78, in Game 5 of the best-of-seven series on Wednesday night at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena in Pampanga.
The win gave Ginebra a 4-1 series win to end their 13-year title drought in the all-Filipino tournament. The title was the franchise 13th, putting them into a tie for fourth place with the Crispa franchise. Kings head coach Tim Cone meanwhile, claimed his 23rd championship in the PBA.

Now that it has achieved its mission of winning the PBA’s crowned jewel, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is bracing for a massive challenge against all comers as it turns from hunter to hunted in 2021.
Ginebra became the new kingpin of the PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday after finishing off TNT, 82-78, in Game 5 of their title series inside the bubble at Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center, lifting the only trophy contested in the shortened 45th season.
Coach Tim Cone has a special feeling about taking the “bubble championship” which was held despite the COVID-19 pandemic while acknowledging that the defense of the PBA’s most important tournament could be tougher should the 46th running of the pro league gets rolling in April.
