It’s full steam ahead…finally. Six Nations has 6000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine just waiting to be shot in the arms of local people. After community members, tired, and let’s be honest, frightened of contracting the virus when numbers began rising two weeks ago headed out in large numbers to surrounding communities to get their first dose of the vaccine Six Nations’ COVID-19 emergency group finally got the message and stepped up the shots. For the past two weeks they had been administering the Moderna ,quietly. First at the Iroquois Lodge and the Jay Silverheels centre. Quietly that is until Turtle Island News found out and let the community know that yes the vaccine had arrived, albeit in small numbers but at least the community’s most vulnerable were receiving shots….

Six Nations community urges patience as COVID-19 vaccinations begin
Six Nations of the Grand River elected council called for patience Wednesday as it announced that more vaccinations have taken place since the second community update provided on Saturday, Jan. 9.
