Man charged in connection to fatal shooting in Grand Rapids and last updated 2020-12-17 16:25:50-05 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids police identified on Thursday a suspect charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a man earlier this month. Michael Eastwood, 23, was found shot on Dec. 6 near Burton Street SE and South Division Avenue, according to GRPD. He was found with a gunshot wound to the chest after crashing his vehicle into a building near Division Avenue and Burton. The Kent County Medical Examiner confirmed that Eastwood was shot and ruled the manner of death as a homicide. Lonnie Jay Sanders, 18, of Grand Rapids was charged Thursday with felony murder, felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of felony firearm.
