First responders jeopardized by vote
This week, 63 Ohio legislators led by Rep. Jay Edwards, R-Nelsonville, voted to jeopardize the lives of firefighters, paramedics, and the citizens we serve in cities of all sizes across the state of Ohio.
True to form for one of the most corrupt legislative bodies in American history, the Ohio House of Representatives voted to shut down the very municipalities they are now trying to retroactively defund.
Ohio firefighters, EMTs and paramedics cannot fight fires, reverse overdoses, or care for gunshot victims on a zoom call. Put simply, when it comes to saving lives, remote work is not an option.
Battle continues regarding where remote workers pay taxes

The right of cities to tax remote employees during the pandemic continues to face opposition on multiple fronts.
A bill that would allow remote workers to pay income tax to their home municipalities rather than where their employers are located and seek refunds for 2021 taxes passed the Ohio House, Wednesday, May 26.
Separately, as Ohio House Bill 157 moves to the Ohio Senate, the Buckeye Institute filed an appeal in one of the organization s multiple challenges about the constitutionality of Ohio House Bill 197, which was passed codifying the right of those cities to tax the income of employees not working within the municipal limits during the pandemic.
