Greater Noida, March 16 : India on Tuesday won gold in Team Lance competition with 126.5 points on the first day of the International Tent Pegging Federation World Cup qualifiers for equestrian tent pegging here.
The Indian team comprised Dinesh G. Karlekar, B.R. Jena, Mohit Kumar, and Sandeep Kumar.
Pakistan clinched silver with 124 points and Nepal the bronze medal with 121 points
Besides India, Pakistan, and Nepal, riders from Belarus, and USA are competing in the three-day competition.
Union minister Sanjeev Balyan is promising statues of local icons as an incentive for farmers to call off their protest, reduced to desperation by his unsuccessful efforts so far to carry out his assigned task of breaking the movement.
Balyan on Saturday told farmers in the Baraut area of Baghpat district that he would install statues of late leaders Charan Singh and Rajesh Pilot if they worked to ensure the protest at Delhi’s borders was withdrawn.
“I shall personally come here to install the statues if you ensure the farmers’ protest is withdrawn,” the minister of state for animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries told a meeting in Ramala.

Moradabad, March 13 : | A case has been registered against 21 SP workers including Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav for allegedly assaulting mediapersons in Moradabad.
Meanwhile, another case has been registered against two journalists on a complaint by SP District President Jai Veer Singh Yadav.
