Evangeline man arrested after motorcycle pursuit, fleeing officers on foot Lake Arthur Police Department and last updated 2021-03-06 12:11:34-05 An Evangeline man has been arrested after leading police on a pursuit last month. Officers with the Lake Arthur Police Department observed on February 20 a motorcycle leaving a business at a high rate of speed. They attempted to stop the motorcycle and a pursuit ensued. Police say the individual lost control of the motorcycle near the intersection of Highway 90 and Highway 1126 between Jennings and Mermentau after allegedly attempting to drive on the railroad tracks. The suspect then fled on foot and was unable to be located at the time after police conducted a lengthy search of the area. An arrest warrant was issued for 31-year-old Thomas Ryan LeJeune of Evangeline.

Jennings man arrested for theft of a vehicle JDPSO and last updated 2021-01-20 13:34:59-05 A Jennings man has been arrested, accused of vehicle theft. The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff s Office says that on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, deputies were dispatched to 15147 Highway 102, Jennings, Louisiana, in reference to a vehicle theft. The complainant told deputies he was working on a construction site and a co-worker notified him that someone drove away in the victim s truck. At around 11:00 am deputies received a phone call alerting them the vehicle was spotted at a residence on Johnson Street, in Jennings. Jennings Police Department contacted deputies and advised they located the stolen vehicle at a residence on Johnson Street, and had detained a man, identified as 25-year-old Keaton Bertrand.
