Cultural centres will welcome back visitors in England and Wales for the first time since January.
But research released today by the Art Fund suggests that 55 per cent of museums and galleries remain concerned about their ability to stay open.
The charity’s director Jenny Waldman said: “This past year we have all been deprived of our galleries, museums and historic houses.
“Now everyone has the power to breathe life back into their favourite museum by going with family and friends.”
Of the 316 museum and gallery directors polled, 39 per cent said they relied on grants from local authorities during the pandemic, while 38 per cent depended on the government’s Culture Recovery Fund.
