Wetzel’s Pretzels announced that it has recently signed a franchise agreement to roll out handheld happiness in Sunrise. The new bakery is scheduled to open in a few months at Sawgrass Mills mall.
Radiating its signature Southern California vibe, Wetzel’s was founded in Redondo Beach, California, 25 years ago and has grown to command a devoted following in the communities it serves. The brand inspires fans with its colorful presence, “gram-worthy” snacks and the small moments of pure pretzel bliss that it produces with friends, family and colleagues.

Wetzel s Pretzels has launched a military veteran s franchise program to offer those qualified a chance to purchase a store at a discount, a news release said. The From Force to Franchise initiative provides a discount of $10,000 on the initial Wetzel s franchise fee for traditional mall and shopping center locations, the brand said.
Additionally, Wetzel s will take off $5,000 on the initial franchise fee for non-traditional locations with an initial franchise fee between $15,000 and $20,000. Non-traditional locations at the brand include everything from kiosks at family entertainment venues to sporting arenas, airports and tourist destinations. A key to the program s development has been the involvement of military veterans already in our company, Wetzel s Pretzels CEO Jennifer Schuler said in the release. From Force to Franchise should spark individuals with military backgrounds to consider entrepreneurship with Wetzel s.
