On Thursday in Monroe County, there were over 700 new cases of COVID-19 reported, the highest to date since the beginning of the pandemic.
Health experts are concerned that with the Christmas holiday approaching, the numbers will continue to grow into the new year.
Governor Cuomo mentioned our region during his press briefing, saying:
“The Finger Lakes are a real problem area in the state for us right. Holidays – people come together. There’s a feeling of safety in your home. There’s a feeling of safety when you are with your family. But it just takes one person who is infected and doesn’t know it. Half the cases are from people who have no symptoms,”
