Shining Girls is a metaphysical thriller based on the 2013 best-selling novel by Lauren Beukes. The television adaptation will see Silka Luisa as executive producer and showrunner. Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss and Wagner Moura will star alongside Jamie Bell. MRC Television is the studio responsible for the upcoming project.
The show will follow a Chicago reporter named Kirby (played by Moss) as she survives an attempted murder. She then goes on a mission to hunt down her attacker. Moura will play a veteran journalist who unveils a story of a potential copycat attacker.
