ONTARIO – Lawyers and advocates say that the sweeping court order requiring reforms in Snake River Correctional Institution’s COVID-19 protocols is a landmark. The case, they say, not only raised questions about the quality of medical care at the prison but also exposes problems endemic to the Oregon Department of Corrections’ handling of the pandemic.

Jennifer Black, Stacy Shea and Randy Page started their two-year terms Wednesday as the new leaders of the Greenville County Republican Party after close votes in a large turnout for a contentious election this week.
Black, Shea and Page ran together as a fresh leadership slate. More than 1,270 delegates to the county party s virtual convention elected them Tuesday over a competing group of candidates that sought to align itself with former President Donald Trump.
