Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie stars in director Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western action thriller
Those Who Wish Me Dead as Hannah Faber, a veteran survival expert and fire warden who takes a young boy named Connor (Finn Little) into her care after he witnesses his father’s murder. When the assassins set fire to the forest to smoke out the boy, it’s up to Hannah to deliver him to safety while outwitting their pursuers at every turn. From our review:

NEW YORK (CNS) Though it s adapted from a book that s over a decade old, Monster (Netflix), director Anthony Mandler s screen version of Walter Dean Myers 1999 novel for young adults, feels remarkably timely. This tale of a Harlem youth caught up in the criminal justice system gains credibility, moreover, by avoiding pat answers.
While uneven, Mandler s drama ultimately proves affecting.
Kelvin Harrison Jr. plays 17-year-old aspiring filmmaker Steve Harmon. With his happy home life Jennifer Hudson and Jeffrey Wright play his caring (but unnamed) parents and his scholastic success as an honors student at New York City s prestigious Stuyvesant High School, college hopeful Steve seems to have everything going for him.

Synopsis:
13-year-old John (Charlie Shotwell) who decides to drug his well-to-do parents (Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Ehle) and older sister (Taissa Farmiga). He then holds them captive within an unfinished bunker that he discovered while walking through the woods. Home alone, John experiences newfound freedom and independence.
Visual artist Pascual Sisto directs the unorthodox coming-of-age story which premiered at Sundance. The film also marks Sisto’s feature debut.
