And he better be right or else he’ll go down as yet another failed Jets general manager, like Mike Maccagnan and John Idzik before him.
Now that Douglas has traded quarterback Sam Darnold to the Panthers (for a 2021 sixth-round draft pick, plus a second-rounder and fourth-rounder next year), it’s a near lock that Wilson will be the Jets’ Week 1 starter in 2021.
This isn’t just about hitting on the No. 2 pick in this month’s draft which surely will be Wilson, now that Darnold is gone. That is absolutely important, of course.
