Award-winning star and legend in the black film industry, Cicely Tyson has passed on at the age of 96.
She is the pioneer for Black actresses in Hollywood, having run her career for over 40 years in the same industry.
She died on Thursday 28 January due to old age, her manager Larry Thompson confirmed.
This, after two days before on 26 January, she released her memior,Â
Just As I Am.
âI have managed Miss Tysonâs career for over 40 years, and each year was a privilege and blessing.
Cicely thought of her new memoir as a Christmas tree decorated with all the ornaments of her personal and professional life. Today she placed the last ornament, a Star, on top of the tree,â said Thompson as he confirmed the sad news to Eonline.

Breaking news: Bernie Sanders is fully aware of those hilarious inauguration memes. And he’s mostly just glad for all the good press it’s bringing to the Vermont mitten industry.
The U.S. Senator for Vermont said he’s just happy that the photo “makes people aware that we make good mittens in Vermont,” he told CNN reporter Ali Zaslav.
He added: “We have some good coats as well.”

Following the Capitol riots, invited by Trump, the president was banned from Twitter. Facebook and Instagram suspended his account until Inauguration Day.
Don called Trump the “biggest snowflake of them all” following the Capitol insurrection, The Independent reports. In the beginning, Don said, “I’ve heard a lot of pathetic things from this White House, This one really takes the cake.”
