After lengthy debate Sunday night, Democrats in the Texas House of Representatives successfully prevented a controversial Republican-backed elections bill from moving forward, for now.

AUSTIN, Texas (CN) In an eleventh-hour maneuver, all Democrats in the Texas House of Representatives walked off the floor Sunday night with just over an hour left in the legislative session and before a Republican-backed voting reform bill came up for a final vote.
LA UNION – The Doña Ana County Sheriff s Office requested the public s help in finding Yunuen Huerta. Based on all information gathered over the past few days, our agency believes Huerta to be in danger a DASO news release stated.
Police said Huerta called 911 from La Union, in southern Doña Ana County, on Thursday, May 27, requesting help. Upon arriving at the address, sheriff s deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents searched the location but did not locate Huerta, according to a news release.
Huerta called 911 again sometime later. Deputies discovered a woman in a green Ford Astro van with an unknown New Mexico or Texas license plate they later confirmed to be Huerta. Deputies said she was inside the van asking for help. They attempted a traffic stop on the van. However, The van fled in an unknown direction.
