Jun. 12—Around 200 people gathered Saturday morning at the Rehoboth Church of God in Bloomfield to celebrate the short life of Jessica Edwards, who speakers described as funny, courageous, and an amazing mother. The guests gathered inside the church in socially distanced groups to listen to speakers and singers, as a live stream of the service was recorded for those watching elsewhere. .

The husband of Jessica Edwards, a South Windsor woman who was found dead in East Hartford more than a week after she was reported missing last month, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday in connection to her death.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled Edwards death a homicide and said she died of asphyxiation due to compression of the torso and neck.
