First baseman Triston Casas and other Boston minor leaguers left spring training camp Thursday in advance of the Sea Dogs season opener on Tuesday.

Boston Red Sox minor league teams ended spring training camp Thursday, with Double-A players heading north to Portland. Minor league rosters are not officially set, but managers have a reasonable idea who will be on their club.
“I think we have a pretty deep team,” Sea Dogs Manager Corey Wimberly said Thursday from Fort Myers, Florida, before boarding a plane for Portland.

The Tampa Bay Rays (12-12) defeated the Oakland As (15-9) 4-3 on Tuesday night. The win evens the four game series between the two clubs 1-1.
Trailing 2-1 in the sixth inning, Brett Phillips hit a two-run homer to give the Rays a 3-2 lead. Joey Wendle added an RBI single in the seventh which would prove to be the difference in the game.
Michael Wacha allowed just one earned run in five innings of work, while Jeffrey Springs (1-0, 5.19) got the win out of the bullpen with a scoreless inning of work.
The Rays and As meet in game three of the four game series on Wednesday night - first pitch is scheduled for 7:10, while pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher and the Inside Pitch at 6 on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
