All six core cast members from Nickelodeon days will reprise roles

“The Brothers Garcia” are back. HBO Max has given a 10-episode order to “The Garcias,” a new sequel series from the team behind the original show.
All six core cast members from “The Brothers Garcia” are set to reprise their roles from the original series, which aired for four seasons on Nickelodeon from 2000 to 2004.
The comeback comes from “Brothers Garcia” co-creator Jeff Valdez and his New Cadence Productions. Though Valdez will be showrunner, fellow “Brothers Garcia” alum Joey Gutierrez is the “Garcias” head writer.

The revival, which is set to begin production in June, will find the eponymous Mexican American family embark on a three-month summer vacation at a luxury beach resort. All six original cast members Alvin Alvarez (Larry), Jeffrey Licon (Carlos), Bobby Gonzalez (George), Vaneza Pitynski (Lorena), Ada Maris (Sonia) and Carlos Lacamara (Ray) are set to reprise their roles; original series co-creator Jeff Valdez will serve as showrunner.
