NBC Retracts Story About Biden Official’s Support for Pro-Israel Group But Doesn’t Remove it Mediaite 1/29/2021

NBC News retracted a story about a member of the Biden administration contributing to a pro-Israel political action committee but curiously left the full story up on its website.
NBC said that “in the interest of transparency,” it was leaving the story posted in its “archives” and provided a link to the full story.
“Earlier today, NBC News published an article reporting that a family foundation linked to President Joe Biden’s senior director for cyber policy on the White House National Security Council donated more than $500,000 in recent years to AIPAC, the largest pro-Israel lobbying group in Washington,” the company noted in a message published on its website. “After a number of readers raised issues with this article, NBC News conducted a review and has determined that it fell short of our reporting standards.”

As expected, the White House press corps so far is treating the Biden administration with kid gloves.
Jeff McCall, professor of communication at DePauw University, says the press already showed its hand, so it has to stick with the plan, or risk ruining the Orange Man Bad narrative from the past four years.
“Any negative story about Biden would necessarily, perhaps put the Trump administration in a more positive light. So the narrative is going to be driven that everything Biden is doing is going to be fine and we should support,” he says.
So it’s unlikely we ll hear questions about Hunter Biden s laptop, or the family s businesses dealings with China and Ukraine.
