Coach Choate to Interview for Boise State Opening Reports are flying this morning that Montana State Bobcat head football Coach Jeff Choate will meet with Boise State officials about their recent head coaching vacancy. Boise State lost their head coach, Bryan Harsin, to Auburn earlier this week. The news about Choate s interview with the Broncos was first reported by the Idaho Stateman, who said they reached out to Montana State athletic director Leon Costello, who declined to comment. While we certainly don t want to see him leave, Choate s hiring at Boise State makes perfect sense for him and the Broncos. Choate was a popular assistant coach there from 2006-2011. Feeling like a head coaching opportunity with Boise State was unlikely, Choate left for the University of Washington. He was an assistant coach with the Huskies from 2014-15 before taking over as head coach at Montana State.
