Dr Lindsey Bennett, who graduated in 2019, based the book on the thesis she researched for her Educational Doctorate on the creative work she develops with her pupils in her role as an art and design teacher. Making and Relational Creativity (Routledge) looks at the relationships that arise between art teachers and students through creative practices that take place outside of the traditional arts curriculum framework in schools. Lindsey details her own experiences and those of her pupils.

We’ve had a taste of this over the past few days, but now it’s official: For the next two months, Georgia becomes the center of the world. The state’s two U.S. Senate races are going to a January 5 runoff; the outcome almost certainly will determine control of the chamber, and therefore of the legislative branch. If both Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock win their races and if two other not-yet-called contests, in North Carolina and Alaska, go to Republicans, as is expected Democrats will have 50 Senate seats, with vice president Kamala Harris able to cast a tie-breaking 51st vote. 2020 has been a wild ride, no? Now, in the year’s final turn, that entire vehicle careens down I-75 and crashes into Georgia like a flaming dump truck.

Retailers set to raise prices as shipping, commodity costs soar

Consumers have been warned to brace for higher prices on products ranging from imported food to clothing, footwear, furniture, hardware and toys as a surge in shipping costs adds to pressure on commodity prices.
Retailers said shipping costs had tripled in 12 to 15 months while prices for commodities and materials ranging from palm oil and PVC to timber, steel and aluminium had soared due to strong global demand, container shortages and logjams in ports.
Spot shipping rates for some retailers have tripled during the pandemic, pushing up the cost of goods.
