Jeep’s Mack Avenue Assembly Plant Gets a New Lease on Life
Apparently, if a dealership still has a “sold” order in their system, Dodge will ramp up production to fill those requests. In other words, this doesn’t seem to be a new round of order-taking, but a way to satisfy the desires of those who have already agreed to buy one despite the model being sold out. It appears this new allotment will also be of 2021-model-year units.
“As we finalized the production plan for this amazing SUV, we found a way to move some 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engines from other vehicles to ensure every ‘sold order’ in our systems will get built,” said Bob Broderdorf, Director, Dodge Brand in an interview with Dodge Garage. “We didn’t want to disappoint these customers and wanted to find a way to ensure they are part of the Brotherhood of Muscle.”

American and Australia share a love for powerful V8 engines, muscle cars, trucks and SUVs, and off-roading. They re kindred gearhead spirits. So it should come as no surprise that Australians fell madly in love with the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Powered by the 6.4-liter Hemi and supercharged Hellcat, respectively, this pair of hot rod SUVs are still on sale in the US, but that s not the case Down Under.
According to WhichCar, both have sold out in Australia and the reality of the situation is that they re gone forever. The next-generation Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L will go on sale in the coming months, likely by the end of this year.
