James W. Walter Jr. (Bo) died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 11, 2021. Bo was a loving husband, father and friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife Debbie, his son Josey, who he devoted his life and son Jonathan. He was preceded in death by his son Jeremy. He is also survived by his sister Linda Whitley (Gene), his sister Becky Palmer (Jeff), his sister Cindy McCown and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday Jan. 14 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, 1591 Gadsden Highway. Bo was retired from U.S Postal Service, was a landscaper and worked for LYFT. He was a friend to many and never met a stranger.
David Miller Spurlock, age 94, of Birmingham, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020.
Mr. Spurlock was born on April 14, 1926, in Alabama City, Etowah County, to the late Tommie Bell Hawkins Spurlock and John C. Spurlock.
He is survived by his son David W. Spurlock; his son Stanley R. Spurlock and daughter-in-law Ann C. Spurlock; his grandson Kurt M. Spurlock (Jenny Evans), and great-grandsons Arthur O. Spurlock and Leo C. Spurlock; his grandson Chad M. Spurlock; his grandson Wade M. Spurlock; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Inez G. Spurlock (who passed away on May 26 of this year); his sisters Elsie S. Rice, Mary S. Baker, and Kathryn Ann Spurlock (who passed away on April 16 of this year); and his brothers John C. Spurlock, Jr., Jack L. Spurlock, and Joe T. Spurlock.
Ervin Clay Pope passed from this life into Heaven on Dec. 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Joan.
Ervin is survived by his children Sheree Pair (Lawrence) and Jeff Pope (Ginger); grandchildren Jacquelyn Underwood (Todd), Allen Pair (Amanda), and Shane Pair (Andrea); great-grandchildren Cade and Maci Underwood, Ava and Anna Pair, and Max, Lucy, and Judy Pair.
Ervin was born Nov. 21, 1927. He lived in a time when mothers told their children to go out and play in the morning and didn’t see them again until dinner time. Ervin often shared stories of bicycling from his home in Woodlawn to Cascade Plunge three times a day and crawling through storm sewers at Forest Hill Cemetery.
