SIDNEY The Shelby County Board of Elections will meet Monday, May 17, at 9 a.m. at the board office. The board will be certifying the May 4 election results in addition to normal business items.

SIDNEY The Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities will meet Monday, May 17, at noon at the office, 1200 S. Children’s Home Road. The meeting will be in person and via Zoom.
Items on the agenda include presentation of administrative reports by support services director, community education and outreach director, early childhood director and early intervention director.
19-year-old charged in double murder in Bibb County mobile home

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. - Investigators in Bibb County have charged a teenager in a double homicide at a mobile home park Monday afternoon.
Deputies were called to the Avalon Mobile Home Park on the 2600 block of Jefferson Road after reports of a person down.
When they arrived, law enforcement agents found two men dead inside one of the trailers in the area. The victims have been identified as 29-year-old Quinterious Hillman and 29-year-old Jerod Lester.
During their investigation, officials say they were able to determine that 19-year-old Macon resident Jaives Jamel Fountain had been at the home. When questioned, deputies say Fountain admitted that he was there at the time of the murders.
Culvert replacement to begin on Bates Road
Bates Road in Chester Township will be closed for five days between state Route 250 and Smithville Western Road beginning Monday for a culvert replacement projects, according to the Wayne County Engineer s Office. The recommended detour is Route 250 to Elyria Road to Smithville Western Road, and reverse. Detour signs will be posted.
Culvert replacement on state Route 95
State Route 95, just east of South Jefferson Road, will close Monday, May 17, for a culvert replacement. The detour for eastbound motorists will be Route 95 to state Route 179, south state Route 3, north to Route 95, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion is Friday, May 21.

A Jefferson Road resident was scammed out of $2,950 in an online scheme in which she emailed back and forth with someone who she believed was her best friend, according to police reports. The victim mailed various gift cards to the scammer via email at the scammer’s request, until she realized the person was not her friend. The incident was reported April 11.
Cash and other items were stolen from several unlocked cars that had been parked in their owners’ driveway or open garages on Nassau Street, Mercer Street and Parkside Drive between April 10 and 11.
A Panasonic brand electric bicycle belonging to a Bunn Drive resident was reported stolen from a parking garage near the victim’s apartment complex. The bicycle was recovered by the Westampton Police Department. The incident was reported April 7.
