An inmate that escaped from the Jefferson County Correctional Facility is back behind bars. 39-
year old Robert Orlando Lake, of Beaumont, cut through a fence to break free. He found a truck
with keys and fled to Beaumont. He was recaptured on Saturday in the area of Tyler and
Cleveland Street in Beaumont. Lake, who was jailed on firearm and robbery charges, is now
facing multiple additional charges.
Watertown man accused of raping teen, police say

Watertown, N.Y. A 38-year-old Watertown man was arrested Wednesday and accused of raping a girl younger than 17 years old, according to Watertown police.
Joseph Crossman, of 244 Clinton St., has been charged with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Police initially investigated the incident on Feb. 10 of this year and the case was later sent to a grand jury, according to police. The grand jury was delayed because of Covid-19 and an indictment was handed down Dec. 17, police said.
Crossman is being held in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, pending his arraignment, police said.
