LOUIS In the early 1900s, an area just north of downtown St Louis began to thrive. The neighborhood was known for its scholars, businesspeople, activists and celebrities. This area was once called Elleardsville and then later shortened to The Ville. Gwen Moore from the Missouri Historical Society called The Ville, “a strong black community.” It was once the place to be for Black St Louis.

Nope. Call it “Every Day at Loma Vista Farm,” Vallejo’s educational bevy of barnyard animals that are pretty lonely these days, what with the pandemic lockdown and all. Still, it’s not always quiet on the four-legged front. There’s a Master Plan in gear and grim year or not, it’s still happening with the long-awaited new alpaca barn for the new alpacas arriving any day on the hooves of a finished goat hill and a banner Christmas trees sales season.
