Gastonia s Yard of Week program begins

Keep Gastonia Beautiful is conducting its Spring Yard of the Week Program which will run for four weeks ( April 12, 19, 26 and May 3). This year the program has added another season Summer Yard of the Week which will be the weeks of June 7, 14, 21, 28.
Members of the Master Gardener Group of Gaston County judge the yards, looking for neat, well-groomed yards. Features like hanging baskets, planters, flower beds, yard art and unusual plants and design are all considered. One house from each ward throughout the city limits of Gastonia will be chosen weekly.

The African American Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with University of Cincinnati Economics Center, did a study, which shows that Greater Cincinnati Black businesses had a $1.4 billion economic impact. This is the first study in the nation by a chamber of Commerce to quantify the economic impact of Black businesses.
