The students take the stage this weekend for three performances of Beauty and the Beast Jr. Shows are slated for 7 p.m. today, Friday, and Saturday at the J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center at Wheeling Park High School.

Carnegie Mellon University traditionally welcomes students to the spring semester with a week-long program of activities ranging from career fairs to midnight breakfast. The academic calendar has shifted in 2021, and the Student Affairs team has likewise adapted. Rather than one week packed with in-person events, CMU will offer Winter Welcome, stretching from move-in through the second week of classes, Jan. 23 through Feb. 13. Ascendium Education Group awards $14,000 to Northeast South Dakota Head Start

The Ascendium Education Group announced a three-to-one corporate match for every employee donation, resulting in a $14,000 gift to the Northeast South Dakota Head Start. “This is wonderful news,” Northeast South Dakota Head Start Executive Director Juli Schultz said in a news release. “The funds we receive are beneficial because they enable us to make purchases and project updates at the center which cannot be allocated under regular funds.” Ascendium Education Group is a nonprofit organization located in Madison, Wis., and has employees in both Aberdeen and across the United States. — Staff reports
