MINNEAPOLIS The University of St. Thomas confirms that one of its students, a senior set to graduate from the School of Engineering, was one of two people show and killed when two men opened fire in downtown Minneapolis early Saturday.
Police say Charlie Johnson was an innocent bystander when the dispute outside the Monarch nightclub led to a volley of gunfire. Two people were killed, including Johnson, and eight others were wounded.

The two people killed when gunfire broke out outside a downtown Minneapolis night club over the weekend have been officially identified as young men, both under the age of 25.
Charlie B. Johnson, 21, of Golden Valley, died of a gunshot wound to the chest at 1:59 a.m. Saturday outside Monarch night club near the intersection of 3rd Street and 1st Avenue in downtown Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office.
Also killed in the shooting was 24-year-old Christopher R. Jones, of Brooklyn Park. Jones died directly outside of Monarch from multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner report says.

MINNEAPOLIS Minneapolis police said two people are dead and eight others injured in an overnight shooting in downtown Minneapolis.
In an evening press briefing, Minneapolis PD s John Elder said one of the shooters was among those dead, and that another shooter is in custody.
The University of St. Thomas reports that one of its students, Charlie Johnson, a senior set to graduate from the School of Engineering today, is the second individual shot and killed.
