IT was a fusion of two different cultures when a young couple decided to make their “I Do’s” official and witnessed by only the closest relatives from both sides during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was made more complicated when it involved two parties from east and the other, from west of Malaysia.
However, everything went well with complete compliance of the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Gov. Doug Burgum released the following statement today after signing House Bill 1247, which directs the state Department of Health and Department of Human Services to unite into the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, effective Sept. 1, 2022.
“North Dakota’s Department of Health and Department of Human Services have a long history of working together to serve the citizens of our state, as evidenced by their lifesaving work during the current pandemic,” Burgum said. “By bringing these two agencies together, we will build on each agency’s strengths, enhance collaboration, provide expanded career opportunities for team members and, most importantly, deliver programs and services more efficiently and effectively to the citizens of North Dakota.”
North Dakota s Legislature has sent a sweeping election bill to the governor after a late snag over whether to identify endorsed and petition candidates on the primary ballot.
House Bill 1253, brought by Rep. Scott Louser, R-Minot, is 83 pages detailing changes for election administration. It includes language updates and provisions for matching absentee ballot application signatures, helping people with disabilities vote and enabling technology additions, such as QR codes for smartphones. We re just making the best system in the country a little bit better, said Louser, who began working on the bill with the secretary of state s office in July 2020.
The 2021 Legislature handled more than 40 voting-related bills, part of a nationwide trend following last November s general election.
