It ll take over a space vacated by Trophy Ranch Bar space, at 2800 Bledsoe St. and will open December 18. El Chingon made its debut in San Diego s Gaslamp Quarter in 2017 with a combination of Mexican food, margaritas, and nightlife in a high-energy atmosphere. A release describes the cuisine as Bad Ass Mexican, designed to capture the spirit of Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa and his pistoleros.

The GBOD (Go Big Or Die) Hospitality Group, with five restaurant concepts in California, is expanding to Texas with El Chingon, a restaurant and bar with DJs and bottle service.
“We’re just not going to grow anymore in San Diego, or California,” says GBOD president and CEO Raymond Davoudi, who now lives in Fort Worth. “Everything was either too expensive or too regulated. I just stopped looking in California.”
