After stumbling in Texas and losing three out of four games to the Rangers over the weekend, the Red Sox return to Fenway Park to face the Tigers, who have the worst record in the majors at 8-21. Boston and Detroit will face off for three games before the Red Sox hit the road again and head to Baltimore for a four-game set. Here’s a series preview:

Today is a very special anniversary in Milwaukee Brewers history. Yes indeed, today is the day, in 1987, that Juan Nieves a young pitcher from Puerto Rico, tossed the Brewers one and only no hitter in the history of the franchise. It still holds up as an all-time moment in Milwaukee Brewers history, a rainy night in Baltimore as Yount dove in centerfield to secure the final out. Did he have to dive? Well, that s a debate that will last forever, but the important thing is that he came up with the ball at the end. Happy 34th anniversary Juan!

CLEVELAND It’s about a week later than expected, but Chris Fetter will be on the field for his first game as a Major League pitching coach on Friday.
The Detroit Tigers announced Thursday that Fetter, who tested positive for COVID-19 and has been away from the team for the last two weeks, has been cleared to return. He’ll be on the field when the Tigers open a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians on Friday night at Progressive Field.
