Good morning, fellow travelers. After a few weeks of offering virtual destinations and in light of California’s stay-home order lifting I’m back with some real-life ways to explore.
Times travel writer Christopher Reynolds and assistant travel editor Mary Forgione are reporting that national parks, hotels and restaurants are hustling to reopen after being surprised by the rollback of state COVID-19 rules.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods, because Californians are still urged to stay within 120 miles of home. In the spirit of doing our part as travelers to limit the spread of the virus, have you discovered any safe nearby gems in the last few weeks?

Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru Experience Coming To zMAX Dragway, Feb 12-21

CONCORD, N.C. (News Release) – More than 70 photorealistic dinosaurs are ready to return from extinction to invade Charlotte. The Jurassic Quest Drive Thru, the nation’s largest touring dinosaur exhibit, will migrate to the Charlotte Motor Speedway February 12-21 after welcoming legions of guests to sold-out weekends across the country.
More than 300,000 vehicles and 1.5 million people have attended the Jurassic Quest Drive Thru since the national tour launched in mid-July with stops in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Houston and more.
Following a successful week and roaring good time at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in early January, the Jurassic Quest Drive Thru announced it will return to San.
