NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) â Smiles and cheers filled the hospital lobby as a man in a wheelchair left through the front door.
In Niagara Falls, some doctors thought this day wasn t going to come, but Saturday, Richard Portale left the hospital.
The 79-Year-old spent the last 62 days in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center battling COVID-19.
He s diabetic and a cancer survivor. He was in rough shape.
His family says doctors asked about hospice care a month ago. But, Portale kept fighting. After intensive care, his condition improved. Now he s heading home.
Police reshuffle

Islamabad: Reshuffling continued in police department at different levels, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has repositioned eight police officers of grade-18 and 17.
According to the notification issued from the office of IGP, SP Industrial Area Zone, Zubair Sheikh has been transferred to Anti-Riot Unit (ARU) to command the force, SP Abdur Razzaque has been transferred from Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) to SP (SSG), while, SP Arshad Mehmood has been appointed as SP Investigation, replacing SP CID (CTD) Malik Naeem Iqbal who has been transferred as SP DPD.
The IGP appointed SP Captain (r) Hamzah Hamayun as SP (Traffic) who was awaiting for posting. SP Mohammad Usman Tipu, SP DPD, has transferred to CPO as AIG/Operations, while SSP Khalid Rashid who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as SSP (Law & Order). In another notification, ASP Usman Munir, who was awaiting for posting, has been appointed as SDPO Ramna.

Five members of Islamabad s anti-terror squad arrested after young man allegedly shot dead

ISLAMABAD: Five members of Islamabad Police s anti-terror squad were arrested on Saturday after a young man was allegedly shot dead by them while travelling in his vehicle.
According to police, 22-year-old Usama Nadeem was shot on Islamabad’s Srinagar Highway on Friday night reportedly after he ignored police warnings to stop.
An Islamabad Police spokesperson said the police were acting on a tip-off about a robbery attempt in Shams Colony. When the anti-terror squad reached the locality, they spotted a suspicious vehicle with tinted windows and asked it to pull over. When the driver failed to comply, the police chased the vehicle and shot at its tires.
Two truck drivers killed by muggers

Islamabad : Two truck drivers were killed in two different incidents of mugging at IJP Road in the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi and Shams Colony last night, police sources said.
In an incident of robbery, Zulfiqar Ali, son of Jamal Din, resident of District Naushehra, lodged a complaint with the Sabzi Mandi police station that he and his brother Raz Ali were running a heavy container, while taking rest on their way at IJP Road they slept down after locking the truck form inside. Meanwhile, two bike-riders knocked at the window and asked them to open the door. But his brother who was on the driving seat, drove the truck to avoid any untoward incident but the muggers opened firing at them, resulting, a bullet hit the head of Raz Ali who died on the spot.
