Since then, countless businesses across the Kansas City metro have closed. Others thought of new ways to stay open.
Andy Rieger, president of J. Rieger & Co., was approached early on in the pandemic by a nursing home in need of hand sanitizer. The company s distillery began making, distributing and donating thousand of gallons. General assistance to the public turned into something that people [who] could afford it from the public wanted to buy, Rieger said.

Kansas Citians have an extra pep in their step after the Kansas City Chiefs punched their tickets to their Super Bowl, where they will be facing Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“But Marco, what does this mean for me?” you ask. “What does this mean for beer?”
Well, if last year is any indication, taprooms in the metro will be hosting watch parties though there will be safety precautions in place, because of the pandemic. And breweries will release new, tasty beers in the days leading up to the game. This means you have plenty of time to try the best beer that Kansas City has to offer before the big day.
