UConn s Geno Auriemma receives five-year extension Field Level Media UConn women s basketball head coach Geno Auriemma received a five-year contract extension on Friday. Per the school. the pact runs through April 2025 and can be extended for two additional one-year periods by mutual agreement. Auriemma, 67, will receive an annual base salary of $600,000 plus media, consulting and speaking-appearance fees worth $2.2 million in the first season. His base salary will increase by $100,000 each year of the contract. Geno Auriemma has meant so much to the University of Connecticut, and to our entire state, for the last 36 years, UConn athletic director David Benedict said. The program that Geno has built is the gold standard in college athletics and I m thrilled that he will continue to lead it for the foreseeable future.
